My Email Sends From Me, Not the Shared Mailbox

Turn on the From button

The From button is what lets you pick which address a message goes out as.
Outlook hides it by default, which is why most people never find it.

New Outlook and Outlook on the web

1. Click the gear icon in the top right.
2. Choose Mail, then Compose and reply.
3. Under Message format, tick Always show From.
4. Save.

The From line now shows every time you write a message.

Classic Outlook on Windows

1. Click New Email.
2. Go to the Options tab.
3. Click From in the Show Fields group.

Once it is on, it stays on for future messages.

Pick the shared address

1. Start a new message.
2. Click From.
3. Choose the shared mailbox from the list. If it is not there, click
   Other email address and type it, for example office@yourcompany.com.

Send as usual. People who receive it see the shared address, not yours.

Worth knowing. Outlook remembers the last address you used. If you send
from the shared mailbox all morning and then write a personal note, the From
line may still say the shared address. A quick look before you hit send saves
an awkward one.

If the address is not in the list

Either the permission has not reached your computer yet or the mailbox is not
loaded. Start with
